  • Destructive in YOUR point of view. You do realize that almost half the voting public actually likes him, right? So not everyone thinks he's destructive.

I get it. You don't like him. And that's fine. Others do. And that's fine too.

Just realize that not everyone shares your opinion. Welcome to Democracy. Thanks, friend! :)

  • Nobody said it was illegal or a violation. I just put it out there for others who seem to not realize it.

Also, there is no way Trump is going to win. In fact, I disagree with the polls that are saying it's a tight race. I think Harris will win by a landslide, friend. I've always thought that, and I've always said that.

So now, not only am I not trying to get Trump elected, I don't think there's any chance he will get elected.

Plus, I don't think there is anything wrong with having some opposing viewpoints in this community so that voters can decide for themselves who they want to vote for. Thank you! :)

  • Posting links to articles that you think cast Trump in a positive light isn’t illegal, nor does it violate the rules of this community, no matter how many people here might wish otherwise.

I also didn't vote for him. Thank you! :)

  • Or maybe they just like him. Not everyone dislikes Harris just because she's a woman. And plenty of women are voting for Trump

There are plenty of black women in my social circle that like Trump. I don't know the reasoning behind it though, and when I brought up that the Socialist party is a much better fit for them, they shut me down real quick! lol

  • Ignorance, whether it be accidental or caused, is the true enemy of democracy.

Exactly—this is why I think it’s so important to support all viewpoints being shared openly, without resorting to bullying or censorship. People need access to all information.

The more diverse perspectives and knowledge available, the better equipped people are to educate themselves and make informed decisions.

True democracy thrives on the free exchange of ideas, not silencing those we disagree with. To your point, people living in an echo-chamber aren't necessarily making the best choices. (Hi, Lemmy.)

    Thanks! :)

  • No. And I didn't vote for him either. Thanks, friend! :)

  • From the article: He does not believe that either presidential nominee, Democrat Kamala Harris or Republican Donald Trump, is addressing the paradox of a country that has never been this wealthy even as so many people see themselves left behind. His trust in government is running low.

That's because neither one is. I'm so happy I voted third party!

  • Yep, the same thing they do to me too. lol

  • I didn't vote "against" anyone. I voted "for" someone. I voted for the person I wanted to vote for. Thank you! :)

  • And what goal is that? Not everyone here has to be pro-Harris, friend!

  • Yep, I voted last week, dropped off my ballot, and the next day got an email saying my ballot was accepted and was fine. So awesome.

  • They don’t have capital punishment where the catfisher guy lives, and I’m generally not in favor of it. But in this case, I wish it were an option. I work with children around this age at my school every single day, and I'm so upset right now, I can't see straight.

    From DailyMail court coverage:

Cimarron was told if she did not comply her photos would be sent to her father. In gut wrenching detail the prosecutor described how Cimarron pleaded with McCartney to stop. Even when she was visibly distressed and crying, he told her to 'dry her eyes' and involve her younger sister aged nine in a sex act.

Cimarron refused and said she would rather kill herself with McCartney cruelly launching a countdown and telling her: 'goodbye and good luck'.

The court heard Cimarron's sister later heard a popping sound that she thought was a balloon bursting.

  • This is a UK article, but the little girl, Cimarron, and her father, Ben Thomas, who both tragically took their own lives, were Americans and lived in a small town in West Virginia. Little Cimarron killed herself out of shame. 18 months later, the father killed himself because he couldn't get over her loss.

This is a horrible story, so read with caution. I wish I hadn't read it, but people need to know stuff like this happens so that they can better protect their own kids.

  • How am I a coward? I voted, friend.

If you feel TheHill .com produces propaganda, then please feel free with write them and let them know your concerns. Thank you! :)
