  • I was going to get this, but then read that the new DRM made it unplayable on deck. Is that not true?

  • Brotato. I mean, it's cheap, so not a huge regret, but I really thought I would like it, but only ended up playing it twice .

  • I love d&d and hated the combat in BG3. They made it all flashy and loud, but lost everything that makes D&D combat fun for me.

  • Yoda didn't live long after that picture was taken...

  • Picked up Sonic All Stars Racing on the Deck, and it's super fun. Never heard about the game when it came out. It's basically Mario Kart with Sega characters, but thats... really fun.

  • Huge eyeroll. There was a writers strike. To make up for all the new content that's not available, Netflix acquired a bunch of old stuff that may be new to subscribers.

  • I loved Linux at work when I had a sysadmin. Shit worked great. At home I started using Linux and despite some driver issues, it was mostly good. Then I started working for myself (so no more sysadmin). Some Linux update totally screwed up my computer and I lost a lot of work. It also became too much work to try and configure the apps that I needed to use for work. Switched to windows and it's been pretty smooth sailing. Still boot up Linux now and again for this or that, but I don't trust it enough as a daily driver for my needs.

  • I mean, I use Windows more than Linux, but seeing the news that it's easier to play games on Linux is great. And from a dev perspective, if I more stuff just works on Linux, fucking fantastic.

  • I use the travel case if I take it anywhere, but I haven't seen any need for a protective case.

  • With my focus going to the hunched over person, all I could see is zombies emerging from the fog

  • Probably more than 50% on steam deck over the last 6 months, though overall I've slowed down quite a bit since getting it a year ago.

The last major game I got was Endless Dungeon when that released (maybe in October?), and I did maybe 2 sessions on pc, then played the rest of the time on the deck. So it's still my preferred platform.

I got Jagged Alliance 3 over the holiday, and found it visually a bit too small on the deck, so I plan to play some on PC until I have a good handle on the game, then switch back to the deck. It's kind of similar to Solasta, which I first played on pc, but now primarily play on Deck.

  • It's on game pass if you have that. I started it and liked it, but got distracted. Been meaning to get back to it.

  • I feel like this is a weird take. Children will play good games and discard bad games. They may not do research before asking for a game from a beloved brand, but the same is likely true for many adults.

  • Oh yes, it was so much easier to get in a car, drive to the store, check if they have it in stock, deal with the checkout person, drive back home, deal with that annoying wrapper, pop the disk in the drive, watch the 5 different ads at the beginning of the DVD, to then finally watch the movie. Way easier than a Google search. This generation has it so hard.

  • What are the specs? Dimensions, resolution, format... Can it be animated?

  • I really liked Earthless, which is similar to Cobalt Core but adds grid movement.

Galactic Glitch was pretty fun, too.

ColorSpace is annoyingly challenging, in an addicting sort of way.

I also played a lot of 'Survivors' games. Most of them sucked, and surprisingly few worked well on Steam Deck, but Sea of Survivors was fun.

  • Well, 78% of Americans think that Idaho is Iowa, so this doesn't shock me.

  • I didn't try the S21, but I always thought the S8 was a very comfortable phone to hold. It was tall, but narrow, and very thin. I'm not sure I'd go back to that now, but I did like it a lot at the time.

  • I got the S23 because it was smaller, then returned it and got a bigger phone. I guess I'm one of the people that only thought they wanted a smaller phone.
