  • I don't know what features you're after, but I like Niagara.

  • This looks cool, thanks!

A couple questions from looking at the repo:

    • instructions reference INSTALL.sh but that's not in the source? Maybe only in the release tarball?
    • does it clear the user's entire clipboard history each time it's run?
    • would it make sense to package this up for PyPI, with system deps being checked for and reported from within python? If so, are you interested in pull requests?
  • Wezterm, which does everything, with a great developer behind it.

Second choice is Konsole: super solid and great rendering.

Aaand tmux with either of those.

  • Good questions. A few hours ago this issue was responded to with:

We will add a section explaining how it works on the README.

We plan to have an "on prem" solution at some point. The SaaS offering will allow us to refine the produce [sic] first.

  • It's funny and sad that we all have stories like these with so many different projects.

I was wrong, my experience was not with the same project as OP (not Nix OS in my case).

  • I'm sorry to hear that! VOID is not what I had in mind.

  • No, never had any experience with Asahi, positive or negative.

  • You may be joking but I gotta say for everyone else: no, it's not Puppy!

  • Ok I figured out how to send a direct message in the Lemmy app I'm using.

  • EDIT: I was thinking of a different distro than OP's

I think I know which distro you reference (are we keeping it a secret for good reason?). If it's the one I'm thinking of, I've also reached out to admins about toxic messaging in the forums, and the response was hostile, dismissive, and disappointing.

Unfortunately, despite being interested in some technical aspects of the distro, I doubt the sanity of some of the team, and don't want to deal with their hostility either.

  • Yup, got at least 46 emails about this today. But as someone said, the devs haven't cared about votes in the tracker for a long time.

  • Haha I'm still working that out for sure. I guess a combination of comments, a good debugger, practice, patterns such as making many very small well defined functions, and frankly a bunch of the people being geniuses (myself certainly excluded).

  • If your clipboard manager/history can be accessed with a script, you might use espanso to create some handy shortcuts, such as :paste3, or I think you can even pass a variable, like :paste/3/.

  • I'm a fan. This is where my library card lives.

As you said, it's super clean, no BS at all. In this crazy world, that's a rare pleasure.

  • In case you haven't heard, Factor just had a new stable release, and is tons of fun for postfix enthusiasts.

  • I appreciate these brave words.
