Dark Matter was fun, so was Killjoys. I watched both when they were airing.
That's the thing, looking back...it's easy to compare those types of shows against everything better that came before. However, at the time; it was just new material. I go into these situations with low expectations so as not to be disappointed.
They can't all be zingers, right?
Edit: after re-reading this in a more enlightened state (1 day older & a bit less intoxicated), I've come to a better conclusion...
We generally look back and only remember the best & worst things. Mediocre or "it was okay" get forgotten.
The shoulders or taint of the giants on which we stand get left behind.
You're right. I'd rather them produce a 'Red Shirts' series anyway. He could be in that. I just read the first issue, it's really fun. They could do it like 'Black Mirror' or 'Inside No 9' in an episodic format with different directors and big actors we don't want/expect to die.
None of us want a reboot. They got close enough with SNW, which does occasionally impress me.
That was pretty good, thanks. Might have to give the full thing a watch. I didn't even consider recruiting outside of Starfleet. I could get Andrew Bird as the ship's computer (but he just whistles everything). Hair Seldon as counselor. Master/Blaster or maybe Dracula for security detail.
Please mess with the knobby bits of the transporter next time, chief engineer Nightwatch Admin. We'll fudge up the stardates and logs so Admiral "Whatever-Today-Is" doesn't fire us.
..but wait! It's a Q episode!!! He snapped the poison back in!
