The cult of Reagan complaining how the cult of Trump won't work with others. The missing subtext being the cult of Reagan refusing to work with anyone not in a cult. A tale as old as 2016

I think stories like these expose the brain rot at the top echelons of society. All of them believe some form of Ayn Rand BS that they alone are preventing society from collapsing when really they are preventing families from obtaining living wages, affordable education, and healthcare.

Either you believe the reporting on the public venmos or you don't. But don't pretend like this is similar to Trumps fairly transparent lies about election fraud where he can't even name the fraud.

Look, our media is broken and Trump is exploiting the need for coverage to spread his lies. It's ignorant to think Republican voters aren't in on it as well.

And if you believe the rich in this country get treated just as harshly as the poor, I doubt I can convince you otherwise.

Shouldn't publicly venmoing a pimp w/ the comment naming a 17 year olds sex worker and that sex worker receiving payment from said pimp minutes later be all the evidence they need?

If our system was fair, prosecutors would do everything in their power to highlight this strong evidence, even if they believe a jury might acquit on technicalities. Because even when politician criminals are aqcuitted, they still have to answer to the public. Pretending a technicality stops a DA from going forward is our criminals justice system being complicit when it's the wealthy doing the crimes.

The media always frames it like it's the workers costing the economy, not the greedy mfers at the top.

I've had similar issues with Amazon warehouse deals. Years ago they were a great deal and they actually labeled their condition accurately.

Moves like that would be good for everyone except the bad faith actors in government. It just takes politicians like Biden admitting how broken their neo liberal order is. And working under a new paradigm focused on solving problems, not leaving problems in place so they can pretend they want to fix things through their inspirational speeches and donation drives.

Isn't this the point of capitalism? Is there a single industry out there that wouldn't collapse without the welfare it receives from Uncle Sam?

I blame the system, not the voters. Humans operating under good faith are well equipped to make sane and mutually beneficial decisions. So when the opposite is happening that is a sign of systemic problems.

Exactly how many Republican votes has Biden got for Democratic legislation? Have you ever watched a Republican primary? Bipartisanship is the easiest way to lose a Republican race.

Only liberals believe bipartisanship works both ways. I get it, I was liberal once. But I stopped reading liberal op-eds and now I don't have this urge to blame everyone else when Biden does things that are unpopular with the majority of voters.

This is Biden mistaking class solidarity with friendship because Democrats like him have to lie to themselves everytime they fuck over the many in service to the few.

I live in Oklahoma, apparently better than Germany. Out-of-state corporations buy off our politicians. This means they get insane tax cuts among other sketchier tax schemes. Having low pay employees is one of our main draws for new businesses. Unemployment here is very low, but there isn't much of a reason to stay in state when you are looking for a job. Our education system is getting worse and worse, good teachers leave the state every year and the leaders are doing jack shit to retain them.

For the ones that actually care about politics, their MO is some combination of own the libs and or increasing their party's power by any means. Academics can break them down by which ones will and won't vote for Trump in the primary, but that distinction is moot when +95% of them would vote for Trump over Jesus running as a Democrat.

The human mind evolved around family or tribe members who's trust in one another was required for survival.

We aren't well equipped to deal with mass media, most of whom are greed driven. I think humans do a good job at analyzing statements that are 100% truth or 100% lies. But when things get mixed, it gets iffy.

Charlatans understand this. They are priming people by saying truthy things followed immediately by lies to manipulate what people believe is real.

Imagine the Greeks never building a Trojan horse, they just waited outside the gate. Then the Trojans open the gate for a Trojan pleb returning home from foraging and the army rushes in like the AI in a RTS. Our brains are RTS stupid. We have to be careful who we give attention to.
