  • I think this is because the reason to get people to get back into office was to protect commercial real estate values.

Now that the third tallest tower in LA sold for 45% its previous selling price, the dominoes have started to fall.

Now, it will be about getting people to work from home and trying to get out of these buildings as they are a failed investment.

So we are going to start seeing companies “offer” to let people work from home. They may even ask you to take a pay cut or something for the privilege.

This is just my prediction and I’m not an expert in these fields. So take this with a grain of salt.

If you are working in an office by force and they offer to let you work from home with a pay cut, I’d hold out a few months as they may start forcing people to work from home at full pay.

  • I’m really happy to be reading your posts. I kind of forgot about the xps line and have been wanting a “cleaner” computer and something with better hardware.

I was looking at Mac’s but you get so little for the money you spend on them.

I think it’s similar cost with the xps line, but you get at least double the ram and storage.

I’ll probably go the XPS 15 when I’m ready to upgrade at this point.

  • I also would have random issues with that district each time I’ve tried it. Usually it’s due to some instructions for Ubuntu not working properly. But it’s still a bit annoying.

  • I just priced one out and you get about double the ram and 2-4x the storage space of the air.

So, while I agree they are expensive, they are nowhere near MacBook pricing. Mac pricing is insane.

Also there are two different body styles and one is like $400 more but the specs I think are the same otherwise.

  • I’ve been wondering what the best non-Mac laptop is. Like something that’s premium feeling without being the same price as a Mac.

I have a Lenovo laptop-14 that I really like, but it’s a bit thick and the screen is a bit dim at times. The speakers are also very quiet.

Is an xps what I should be looking at?

  • That’s fair, but the cars downtime and dealing with a mechanic costs more than just the $$$.

I’ve had a car in and out of the shops for months trying to nail down an over heating issue. What a stress that was. I don’t think I’ll ever consider an ice car again to be honest.
