I agree. I am not a game dev, but I have considered making a game before. I do have programming experience. I just started a Godot tutorial today.

The tutorial focused on how to use the interface for the most part. I will not continue the tutorial I was using as it was video, and I really prefer to read. I'll see if No Starch Press has a book. I typically like the books they publish.

Update It does not look like they have a Godot book. I will keep looking for one.

This is really it. My wife and I are in our mid 30s and are finally at a financial place to have kids. But we work so much, we would not have time to really raise them. If we did have time, then we wouldn’t have the money.

I’m not going to have a kid that we can’t raise properly.

I feel the same way, people are getting pressed in every direction. At a certain point, the pressing will have to stop.

Hopefully the pressure does not cause an explosion.

I’d argue getting doom to run is a good way to demonstrate understanding of the tech.

I’d like intro skipping. But none of these features are enough for me to switch from jellyfin. Luckily, sending the files to vlc is easy enough for offline playback.

Yeah, Jellyfin is really great. I’m sure there are things that Plex does better, but Jellyfin does everything I’ve asked it to.
