  • Tridi 3 Germinal an 233 de la Révolution, jour d'Asperge

I have been sloppy with posting this weekend: Friday, I killed Ishtar (RIP). The last shave was meh, and confirmed my mixed feeling about this soap. I loved the scent at the beginning, but then, we sort of fell out with each other, for several reasons.

This year I have been particularly undisciplined with soap purchases, and Friday, I got both MdC Absinthe and SV Tundra Artica. I was more intrigued by Absinthe, and so I tried it tonight. It was my first time with a MdC soap, and I don't think I have the base nailed (I could probably have hydrated it more). The scent feels very week to me (but then, it's hayfever season, so this might not tell you much.

    They say:

Created in 2024 for the semi-century Martin De Candre , the razing soap " Absinthe " is inspired by the herbaceous freshness of the famous elixir of yesteryear. Green and invigorating notes , slightly lemony , recall the aromatic of hysope and lemon balm . The heart of the fragrance is marked by the aniseed and spicy of star anise , fennel and green anise . Your shaving becomes synonymous with a sweet and intoxicating freedom.

I got a slight lemon scent off the puck, and a mix of fennel and anise. When lathered, all I got was a slight scent of anise – which is very nice, though.

And although I should have added more water, the soap was extremely slick – way beyond any other soap I have tried recently. After all, a very promising first contact, and I'm looking forward to using it more.

  • Wordering about BVWSC: next Wednesday is the last Wednesday in March. Would there be any soap that everyone here has, if smushes don't arrive?

Seville? Tabac? Spiced? Entropy Man? The Stag? Valley of Ashes? Arkadia? Electric Sheep?

  • I had him on matrix, and he has a lot of things going on. He will probably take a break from social media for a while.

He did post the smushes though, so I hope nothing got lost!

  • No, not yet. There have been strikes in Germany, so let's hope for the best

There is one more shave left in Ishtar – but I definitely will finish it with a synthetic brush.

    Have a good night!

Ishtar is slightly green, and that will have to do for St. Patrick's day.

    Have a good night!

  • You have a DE razor - what could possibly go wrong?

  • The difficult thing is not to get lather rn the whig!

Continuing with the kill on Ishtar. Good shave, and for once, I made a picture of me shaving:

I don't remember which razor the second one was, but it sure was yummy.

  • LLMs have made some progress. I heard good things about Gemini Flash, and there have clearly been major improvements. Here are my latest attempts to generate a logo for this instance.

First shot – Gemini Flash seems to have some prejudice against Lemmy:

Yet, when I asked Gemini to create a picture of Stalin shaving, this seems to be against the guidelines, so no joy.

On the other hand, straight razors are no longer a problem:

But dysorthography is still a problem:

  • Could the ballots be stuffed?

Chinese bots are outraged by certain TSF logos and names, and the latest congress of the CCP decided that this artisan cannot win MM.

Good shave: the Puma has the same buttered toast feedback like the Star razor – which is quite nice. I don't get as close a shave with this razor as with other straights I have, but I might have to improve the edge. But it delivers good comfortable shaves. And I notice that this year, I have only used my Russian Bear more often than the Puma. Animal spirits!

    Have a good evening!

  • The important question: can you lather with one hand?

  • It sure beats the hell out of anything we have in the U.S.!

I don't know: I guess you have few remaining trains, but they run more or less as expected. In iny case, et is beaten by every other coutry in the region here. But I've heard that in 5 years, it should be better 😬

  • You are going to win so yugely that you will grow tired of winning.
