  • Tridi 13 Prairial an 233 de la Révolution, jour de Pois

I found a Bismarck for a price that seemed very fair to me, and I went for it. I tested the edge it came with, and it sliced the packing peanut without any issues. So I went for it as is. First impressions: very nice razor, good edge, very maneuverable. Looking forward to another shave with it.

    Have a good day!

It's a hot day today – and I decided to drive again the Barbarossa. It is really small.

    Have a good evening!

  • Engels Leader

Although it is a beautiful razor, on behalf of all tankies on lemmy, I have to object: obviously, Marx was the leader.

Morning shave today, with Zingari. I took Bon Monsieur, because of how much a good boi I have been.

    Have a good day!

  • got two more old straight razors from AuctionNinja

    And so it begins...

  • I have never participated, and I initially thought that me having remotely sufficient gear for the LG would be proof of my total lack of self-control 😬 But here I am.

That being said, I'm not going back on reddit.

Use this, and you may become pope one day!

  • I'll try again Lainess Blue Pearl.

Mystery scent, but it has aquatic component, and is very fresh: Parfait pour les chaudes journées estivales says Le Père Lucien, and he should know, because he's the only one who knows what's in it. Also, contains mare milk as an ingredient. If you want to try a full horse AA, this would be the ideal soap. Test it in July, and you'll be ready for August![^1]

It is hayfever season, with asthma, headaches and stuffed nose. These are obviously the best conditions to enjoy an unobtainium soap. Aditionnally, and unrelatedly, it is the day of the daylily in the Revolutionary Calendar.

I got some leather (maybe I'm just primed to leather, because in BVWSC, we almost always have some sort of leather in the scent notes), and a generally very enjoyable scent. I was somewhat reminded of Chypre-Siam by Rogue Perfumery, but after verification, there is nearly nothing in common (other than civet, and that I like it).

I don't believe that I had the soap base figured out, even with a synthetic. Warned, I loaded heavily, but the lather still was rather bubbly. But it gave me a very serviceable shave.

In any case, thanks to @walden@sub.wetshaving.social for this nice discovery, and for a soap that I will unfortunately never use again.

    Have a good evening!
