    • add water -> soup
    • add rice -> fried rice
    • add noodle -> fried noodle
    • add eggs -> omelette
    • add all of them -> ramen (rice is optional I guess)
  • Both side seems to be frustrated at each other there. Beehaw admins accused lemmy devs of not listening to their requests for better moderation tools, while lemmy devs accused beehaw admins of demanding more work without contributing anything or gave them appreciation. I hope the conflict is just temporary and they can reconcile later when things have cooled off.

  • Clearly you don't pay ms enough so the poor megacorp have to sell your data to their 807 partners to scrape by.

  • A fraction of those "old" computers will use Linux. Perhaps we'll reach 5% desktop market share soon thanks to Microsoft.

  • K3s+Wireguard(?)

  • If you use Tailscale or ZeroTier, you can use the private IP address from those services as node's internal IP in k3s/k8s configuration, and the nodes will connect to the control plane via Tailscale/ZeroTier network.

  • When that happened, Microsoft can fix their reputation again by buying more popular open source companies again. Nothing money can't fix. Maybe they'll buy Canonical next.

  • In MGSV you can knock out an enemy by requesting a supply drop on their head. It's not lethal though, unlike in Gaza...

  • Python? Where? All I see is people praising Rust here. Also, Ubuntu? That's the most hated Linux distro on Lemmy.

  • I would be mad too if an off-centered ad suddenly appeared on my lock screen.

  • You may feel that way, but not every power user is like you. Linux distro is not a monolith, it's made up of thousands of small components made by different people and organizations. If you look at some of those components source control (e.g. on GitHub or GitLab), you'll see a large portion of pull requests are done by their users who found bugs and decided to submit a fix themselves. For example, just look at how many pull requests libgweather got, and they're mostly submitted by gnome users who were mildly annoyed with the weather app.

  • It's still too expensive without government incentives, and the Leaf is going to be discontinued next year, right? Also replaced with a $40k crossover. Instead of producing cheaper EVs, they produce even more expensive EVs to replace the previous models.

  • Epic (the game engine and middleware developer) and Epic Store (the one that sells games) seems to have different priorities. Customers of Epic game engines and middlewares want linux supports, so they provide it. Meanwhile, Epic Store don't want the burden of maintaining linux ports for their games, so they remove supports for linux in games they acquired.

  • The real suckers are companies paying for ad placements on those bot-ladden social media sites.

  • Are Samsung's low budget lineups eligible for their new 7 years support promise?

  • The R2 will start at $45,000 and will begin rolling off the production line in Normal, Illinois early in 2026.

    These new EV companies have no plan to release affordable EVs anytime soon, huh? The sort of EV's equivalent of honda fit / ford fiesta with minimal features at affordable price?

  • So he got vaccinated every five days for 3 years?

  • Ah, I see. I disable automatic lock on my desktop and have automatic login so it was not an issue for me.

  • I'm actually not sure about that. You might want to test it yourself on your own server before shutting it down for good. See if you can bring up lemmy again after renaming the pictrs directory to simulate deletion.

  • I just tested freerdp on gnome wayland and it works (via Settings -> Sharing -> Remote Desktop). Combined with tailscale/zerotier, you should be able to remote from anywhere via RDP.
