  • A board game club does sound cool, I’m not a huge fan but I do enjoy them.

And yeah I try not to be too hard on myself and treat myself to something from time to time even if I don’t necessarily feel like I deserve it. I do have some beer in the fridge, I don’t generally drink a lot, I never partied in high school or college but I do like having a couple drinks once awhile just to relax a little. Still that doesn’t exactly get me out of the house haha. Was gonna try to go on a run though, been a few weeks since I’ve done because I was given my body some much needed rest but feel like it might be time to get back into it

  • That is nice. The other thing is, it’d be to cool this place grow a little but at the same time I like that there’s way less people on here. I was active on some movie subs and I can’t tell you how many of the same posts and same discussions I saw, nobody had anything new to say about anything. Echo chamber and all that.

I don’t know it’s hard to describe, this place just seems a little more laidback and slow paced but that’s exactly what I’m looking for. I’m off all other social media now except for this. And I don’t know how long I’ll last here but while I’m a little let to the party I’m giving it a try.

  • Ok thanks for the advice because I have come across some places like that where I’m like oh the last post like a month or two ago? I mean that’s really that long ago but eh..is it worth it?

But I’ll try me best to keep things going if I feel strongly enough about a community

  • This is a good idea. I’m probably gonna start with more news/politically related communities. I’m so glad this place doesn’t have a news page like Reddit. I would find myself endlessly scrolling and viewing dumb posts with headlines like “this celebrity thinks that blah blah…” and then going to see what people are saying, and be like oh somehow has a ton of downvotes what did they say, and I’d be invested in an argument and then I’d catch myself and be like wait…I don’t give shit about this why I’m engaging with, let alone reading, the comments. Obviously important to stay informed but I wasted so much time scrolling through pointless “news” posts. I’m trying to avoid toxicity and engaging in stuff I don’t even care about only to get caught up in some dumb argument with an asshole

Just left Reddit and joined Lemmy, what are some cool and active communities to join
