Well, I don't think it's a scam because of Bitcoin's actual purpose. It was supposed to be used as a legitimate form of alternative currency.

Speculators have decided that it's an investment, which changed all the dynamics. I still use it for it's original purpose, but I think Nano is far superior (and faster) alternative for it when using it for transactions. I love Nano, but not as an investment.

I mostly just speculate with BTC now, and I profit from it. But like you said, it's very much gambling now. So I never invest more than I can afford to lose. It's def more fun watching the market swings this way.

I actually use BTC profits to fly to Vegas with my gf. But I don't gamble there, I just like hanging out there and acting like a big roller for a few weeks here and there, and seeing the vibe. We have friends there, so we don't have to rent a hotel or anything.

Sure, but that logic applies to literally every market. Stocks, real estate, collectibles—none of it has 'real' value until someone buys or sells. Price is just the number buyers and sellers agree on at any given moment. So yeah, if Bitcoin’s value is 'fantasy,' then so is your 401(k) until you cash out.

I've disagree with most of the posts in this thread. But I gotta say, this stereotype is true in my experience. I have dated a lot of crazy women, and mostly because even the everything else with them is a crazy fucked up mess, the sex is always amazing. The best sex I've ever had was with the crazy girls who were overly dramatic, and just always made shitty choices (like sleeping with me! haha)

I say this as someone who is in a kinda serious relationship now (she wants to get married, I'm not quite there yet). Love her lots, sex is great, but man, nothing matches the absolute insanity filthy sex that I had with the crazy girls. It's something about that just not giving a fuck what they think or lack of respect, or something... But no lie, I kinda don't wanna get married because don't wanna give that all up just yet.

Not an excuse for most Lemmy users. Most American Lemmy users make far more than the average American. I have seen Lemmy users legit bitch that they only make $80K a year. That's more than I ever made a year in my entire working life. And I never had a problem dating.

Yes. I'm amazed so many people are missing this. I've dated a lot of women. And when I've asked someone out and it didn't work out, ya shrug, laugh it off and move on. It's not THAT personal. I've turned down others too. It's the same thing. Some people click with you, some done. Lemmy users seem to take a rejection way too personally.
