That is really good advice. I don't seem to have as much problems with newer games so refresh rates probably did help. I will have to pay attention next time I play an FPS to change the FOV.
I always struggled with FPS games as they made me a bit nauseous and I would get lost easily. Typically I preferred 3rd person such as Gears of War, Uncharted, Witcher, etc. although I do have gob tons of hours in Destiny 2 and Skyrim so obviously managed to make it work.
I would argue that he has a bit more visibility/scrutiny due to his wife's connection to Jan 6th and MAGA. Not so say the other judges shouldn't have as much scrutiny, they should, but that is at least my take on why.
One thing that frustrates me is when a game doesn't have a mini map option in the HUD. Obviously there are exceptions such as Elden Ring where it works better to not have one but in general I would prefer it to be an option especially when it is an open world game. I get lost driving in my own neighborhood, there is no way I am going to figure out where to go in a game without one.
I agree with you. I chose Lemmy.World because it was listed as a general instance and the others were very specific and I was still trying to navigate what the Fediverse even was. If Lemmy.World hadn't been an option I would probably have stuck to Squabbles or Kbin.
Event Horizon was vastly underrated. Also, I learned the other day there was a scene that was removed due to being so disturbing but the footage was stored poorly and became so degraded we will never get to see it. Which only makes my imagination run wild.

But with not seeing either movie, I would say the big difference is Barbie is a family movie. Now is Oppenheimer a better movie from a technical standpoint? Absolutely, but parents can't really drop the kids off to go watch a rate R movie.
At first it might take some effort to create content since it will be a new community. It might be good to see if you can find one or two others to help you mod or at least help build up posts in the community until you get a more active base. Most communities do not see much in the way of mod reports unless it's a controversial community such as US Politics.
