Columbus downtown seemed like a nice Midwestern spot, touch of Rust Belt, heavy on Buckeye mania of course. Seemed really quiet when I visited many summers ago.
Have you considered Chicago? Boystown is a great neighborhood. Kinda wished I’d lived there even though I’m not LGBTQ. I think it’s still relatively low crime. But I’m sure you’ll want to do (or have done) your own homework on that.

Of course not. The Christmas economic juggernaut won’t stop for anything at all. There’s way too much cash flow at stake. Most people still believe in gods and ghosts and jolly gift givers, so most will never become atheists or abandon the tradition. At the same time the “put Christ into Christmas” lot will never reach critical mass because the numbers of the truly faithful and deep-pocketed are dwindling.

It should be a minor holiday, celebrated by few. It shouldn’t be shoved in my face or yours. It shouldn’t be a two month PR shitstorm.
You misunderstand me. Take Christmas out of prominence in the society and put it back into the religious domain. Let them have it back, in a scaled back, watered-down way.
If you are atheist, why do you care what happens to Christmas? It was once a religious holiday, now co-opted by capitalism. Let it die a slow death along with the rest of Christianity.
I support efforts by the religious to put Christ back into Christmas. I really do. I agree that Christmas should not be about materialism and the economy and fulfillment of social expectations. It should be a small religious holiday celebrated by whatever real Christians are left.
It should be, buy a gift for a bestie, buy one gift each for family members, say some prayerful nonsense, and have a nice meal. Not people trying to outdo each other with decorations, or making sure we spend enough on everyone, or making sure the Christmas cards go out on time, or making sure we cut down a tree to display in our living rooms.
It’s the very materialism quoted in the article that brings me down. It’s the social expectations with Christmas that flood me with unhappiness and anxiety and make this such a miserable time of year. So I support them taking it back and scaling it back.
The healing of religion—and many such cases have been genuinely healed—comes, like the healing of any other abnormal condition, through the application of the truths of life and man as taught in Science. These truths include rational thought, scientific theory and experimentation, rejection of groupthink, and the elevation and celebration of fellow women and men as Equals.
CONTRIBUTING.md should be very simple to follow and have all the steps necessary to submit a successful contribution.
Have a section in there for first time contributors. Link to a YouTube video outlining the basics if need be. Explain the process from the very beginning. If you want fresh talent to contribute, educate them on the right way to do so. (Perhaps this is an opportunity for boilerplate language. However, best current practice may change over time.)
Be pleasant to and patient with contributors who fall short. They may never have contributed anything before. In that case, you are an ambassador not just for your project but for all open source projects. Don’t be a jackass who drives away talent just because they didn’t do something exactly perfect.
Tried submitting a relatively simple change to the Ansible code base once. Added an option to the telnet module to support different ports. Submitted a pull request. Was told I needed to change and update the documentation. Didn’t know how to do that, and I didn’t get any guidance, so I abandoned the pull request. Kept on using my own hack until someone else added the option.
Make contributing easy, and more people will contribute.
People are fine. I hope they all find happiness. I've never gotten the hang of the societal protocols, so I try to keep conversation professional and short.
I’m confused. Are you talking about rarity or (what I like to call) quality? A rare weapon has 1-3 extra modifiers, like +10% damage to humanoids. Quality affects base damage. An Advanced higher quality weapon does more base damage than Calibrated, for instance.
