Forced arbitration means any legal disputes you may have with Discord must be resolved through a single third party mediator, who 99% of the time is chosen by, and will rule in favor of, the corporation/Discord. This effectively removes all your legal rights as a consumer, because arbitration decisions are legally binding and non-appealable.

The new ToS goes into effect April 15th, 2024.

YOU CAN OPT OUT OF ARBITRATION. You must email arbitration-opt-out@discord.com BEFORE MAY 15TH (30 days after ToS effective date) with your username stating that you wish to opt out of the arbitration clause. Once May 15th passes you are bound to arbitration with Discord forever.

I've been logged into Discord for a while, but I came on ten minutes to check my notifications. One of the messages was a friend request, which I accepted.

A split second after I pressed Clyde's greeting feature, it logged me out of Discord on its own. I went to log back in and it asked me to re-verify my email address. I found it startling since Discord has known my email address for years.

I got in fine and everything seems to be where it was left after the last time I closed the site, but things like that make me wonder if I'm supposed to ask if something else is up. Did Discord think I spammed (it definitely didn't say so), was it a new development in routine, was it a glitch, etc. Protocol is unstatic on there which is why I ask.

Could companies please STOP lying about it being Discord's choice, its not, is the Discord server's choice to ask for it.

Its a "Verification Levels" setting that the server op sets, and they have multiple options that they can choose from, its not an on/off switch. They can dial it back one notch and still have spam/bot protections.

The only difference between "High" and "Highest" verification levels is the addition of asking for a phone number, all other features of "High" is in "Highest", and "Highest" has no other extra features besides asking for the phone number.

Makes it really hard to have an pseudonym account on the Internet, for gaming purposes, and then be asked for your real phone number. I don't need to be tracked 24/7.

Isn't your active developer badge supposed to be removed if your bot hasn't been used in 60 days? I have an account with an active developer badge and it has never been removed. The bot used to claim the badge hasn't be used for months, but I have never gotten a warning about the badge expiring on that account. I have another account with the badge and every 60 days I get a warning, so I know this isn't normal. Could my account be bugged or could it have something to do with the policy change for the badge?

Most people who use Discord have heard of the concept of raiding. Raiding is where you overwhelm a Discord server with an influx of new members trying to make the server unusable by filling it with junk messages so nobody can communicate in it. This is against the site rules, and there's even a report option for it.

My question though is, does the opposite apply, where if you pressure people into not joining a Discord server, you can get reported? For example, I have enemies in high places cough cough Inkblot dot art cough cough and they're trying to "unraid" me, that is, get people to shame anyone associated with me. I'm wondering if the same logic applies according to the site.

For those interested in trying to keep track of the discord username rollout this is the best tool I have seen for it.

Activate the new Discord user interface for Discord Mobile: ```

1. Send the Sparkles emoji to any server.
2. Once sent, tap on the Sparkles emoji to activate the description box of the emoji.
3. In that box, tap and hold on the Sparkles emoji image until the new layout option appears. ```

To turn it off if you don't like it: ```

1. Tap on your profile on the bottom right.
2. On the top left, tap on the gear to open App Settings.
3. Tap on Appearance.
4. Turn off the toggle for "Show New Layout". ```
