Fedizens
- fedipact.veganism.social #Fedipact - The instances blocking Zuckerberg's Threads.net
An interactive list to see which ActivityPub (Matodon, Lemmy, FireFish, etc) instances are federating with Threads.net
Just a reminder we're taking names. You can sort by software and especially Blocked.
Dear Lemmings, who said we can't have silly trends like the others ? I created a game, it's the FEDIRING !
To play you must follow the links I started at the bottom of this post, until there are none left, and then comment with a new link to a post you picked from any existing lemmy community, using "FEDIRING" as the text of your link. Below that post you link, someone else will then comment with a "FEDIRING" link to another post from another Lemmy community, and so on...
This is how it should look :
In this example (pix above), the comment contains the word FEDIRING which should lead to an existing post in another Lemmy community (not a post you created).

The rules are simple :
- Only comment the last post of the ring. Don't comment on a post link that already has a "FEDIRING" comment, you need to follow the link if you find one.
- You can only play once (this means only one comment from you in the ring)
- We must reach a new Lemmy community each time. You can link to other instances if you want. Use that as a way to tour lemmy.
- (OPTIONAL) Comment here to let us know if you played !

-------
Let's see how far we can go:

Everyone seen those spontaneously synchronizing metronomes?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T58lGKREubo
I have a feeling this also explains part of trends such as who uses what software and fashion trends. Which is network effect in depth really.
But spontaneous synchronization also explains where counter culture movements come from. Kinda like heart attacks, a different section of society pulsing in a different beat.
Not sure if this info is useable for better adoption of fediverse tech?
At very least it presents a problem for FedExpansism on Reddit. We convince 1 Redditor to join and then they leave Reddit. But we need them to stay on Reddit so we're not just 1 Firefly in the dark. 1 Firefly will only convince the extremist fireflies, but 1000 fireflies will be able to convince normies.
Prob useable for protest organization, since it directly applied to firefly synchronization

If wolfballs and lemmygrad get cancelled by big tech, it'll nuke their instances, but would be fantastic for spreading awareness of lemmy software.

1st place wintermute
2nd; liwott
3rd; straight peach
4th; sexy peach
5th; michael
6th; me
(Sorry about delay, been busy)
Until proven otherwise, wintermute is the strongest chess player on the fediverse :p
I learnt a lot of stuff about running an e-tournament. Biggest factor is needing a lot of substitutes for when people drop out. Which would make the results weird, because say wintermute drops out and I sub in for him, then i'd lose the finals.

The options are stopping, be just a forum, or revitalize a vibrant community. The last option needs people willing and committed to do so. To step up for the sake of Fediverse Futures.

(Coopy pasta this onto reddit)
I went to a bar last week and saw this total fediette. I immediately fedied a little in my pants and decided to put my fedi where my mouth is. I went up and sat my fediussy on the stool next to her, and asked her if I knew her. Nah, you're too pretty. I'd remember your face. Misskey to remember, funkwhake to forget. She was instantly feding out her panties at the mere thought of feding out with me. Then some anti-fedier jerkop came up and said "Are you fucking quoting the fediverse (2022) to pick up girls?" I fedipanicked. I said "I...ill follow you on diaspora?" and he started #fediblocking me. I fedied the hell out and fedied all over that guy and am now in federated prison for "fediMurder". Don't those fedidetectives know it was a fediverse reference? All in all, follow me on pixelfed?

People hate reading, so i'll copy paste the important points from my previous posts here.
if you can help with graphics or advertising to get more people to join thatd be great!
Format
Round robin. Each person is playing 2 games, finals might be 3 games
Rules:
-
Feel free to
gentlemangentlecoin to whatever rules you want. But i'd recommend allow 1 undo each, especially if you're both inexperienced. If you're experienced and the person you're playing against is inexperienced, consider giving them more undos. -
Best of 1
-
in my experience lichess works best if you register, but not required though clearing your cookies will break the game iirc!!! https://lichess.org/
-
Both people have to report who won here. Both of you also attempt to report how many moves it took for you to win, might be used for tie breaking.
-
Dont cheat ex by having a grandmaster computer play for you
-
Do at least 1 move a day
Gambling:
- I'm down to bet an imaginary currency like !lemmybucks@lemmy.ml or cat girls or what have you. 1v1 me sib!
---
Would be cool if you upload your match so we can see what happened!

Peaches - arrange your match, ideally in the comments but where ever, let me know when you start the match!

I'll arrange brackets. Or if you particularly want to play someone, mention it in the comments and I'll pair you guys up
-
I'm open to suggestions, but lichess seems like the easiest way to set up matches, but really, if you can get your opponent to agree to use like Minetest chess, go for it!
-
If someone off the fediverse wants to play, have them contact me somehow. You could even relay their messages to me.
prizes:
-
once the fedizens enquirer news paper is up and running, you'll be featured there.
-
myself, @sexy_peach@feddit.de, Michael from Perthchat and/or @Helix@feddit.de will simp for you
