Vintage fans of Anime
- www.animeherald.com The Forgotten Surprises of Anime VHS Commercials
VHS advertisements were a crucial piece of insight into the greater world of anime—and they evolved into an art form of their own.
I loved those old AMV-style promo reels.

Hah, I can't believe they remade this. I actually never got around to watching Urusei Yatsura, but my first manga was Ranma 1/2 and my favorite anime of all time is Maison Ikkoku.
I (38) was having a conversation with a younger coworker (28) about vintage anime that I would recommend for him to watch. I brought up Bio Booster Armor Guyver because it was the first anime that I really got into. Even had the translated and mirrored manga that you could only get a comic book shops.

Heard about it through Catsuka and they have a nice video displaying the vinyl itself: https://twitter.com/catsuka/status/1666878620466331648
I'd like to start a thread of what you think are your favorite odd-ball one-off or short OVA series (could even be VHS only) that others might not know about?
My favorite is Phantom Quest Corp. from 1994. A ridiculous action-comedy about an unlikely group of Spirit Hunters that includes drunk karaoke, a shy vampire who won't drink people's blood and a tube of lipstick that turns into a lightsaber.
Last year it was announced that several of the previously released (but long out of print) and all (or almost all) of the previously unreleased in the US would be parceled out to a few different companies. AnimEigo got the rights to Macross 2 Lovers Again and will kickstart the release this summer.
I'm assuming it will be as filled with extras as their usual releases.
