Stardew Valley
Just played a few days, and I doubt it will supplant stardew in my life, but it is certainly enjoyable.
Would love to hear other people's thoughts!
(Potentially) SOLVED: I disabled both Steam Overlay and controller Steam Input, and now it somehow works. Strangely, I believe they were both disabled to begin with and I tried enabling one at a time, then both, and nothing worked. I wanted to test individual settings again so I turned both off and suddenly it recognizes my controller (DualShock 4)
---
I haven't played 1.6 but I'm sure I played 1.5 with this setup a while back and the controller was working. Now my Mac recognizes the controller (and I can use in Steam's big picture mode) but the game doesn't.
What I've tried:
- Started the game through Big Picture mode using my controller, and tried without Big Picture mode
- Uninstalled SMAPI and any mods
- Restarted my Mac
- Enabled/Disabled Steam Input in controller settings
Anyone have any experience getting it to work?
---
NOTE: Just tried with DualSense/PS5 controller and having the same issue. The game doesn't seem to recognize the controller
I googled how to prevent spawning weeds, wood or stones from wrecking scarecrows. I read re paths. But weeds can wreck any floor or path.
I thought of surrounding a scarecrow with hardwood fence. I asked a large language model (llm) if that works. The llm said yes. True?
A scarecrow doesn't need so many resources but I don't wanna remake a scarecrow each time a weed, wood or a stone wrecks it.
Wondering if any of y'all are using the polyamory mod and if so who are you dating/married to?
If y'all don't know what I mean then I mean this: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/20599
Last year we did a giant blue chicken, anyone have any fun ideas for this year?
I want to get an autopetter because I constantly forget about my barn and coop. What's the easiest way to get one?
I am post cc btw
Would it be possible to play modded on the switch version?
Would PC 1.5 mods run?
- www.nexusmods.com Better Junimos
Significantly improve Junimos: automatically plant crops, fertilize, work for a fee, increase range, work in the greenhouse, and more!
It came out of 3.0 beta.
So, while joja is active and you pass out at 2 am a joja employee takes you home and charges the money thing. Who do you think it is? I assumed Shane at the start of my play through but am doubting that conclusion, what do y'all think?
So, in the older switch versions I'd occasionally do a Marnie glitch if I needed a basic item, mostly just crap like seaweed but that has been patched
What other funny glitches are there to play around with
I have a lava eel pond and they want the stupid scroll and it won't drop, where are the best places, do I just kill stuff or would that ground tilling gimmick work?
Got it, took a burglar ring and a lot of kills
I have lv10 in farming, combat and mining and 8 in foraging and fishing. In sewer there is no statue? Am I too early for it or is it not in the switch port?
Wondering cos now artisan skill looks good
So, I need to do the animal bundle and need the large milks and large eggs. How do I get the friendship needed?
I feed the animals daily and they are still at zero hearts
I play the switch version and am wondering if it would be possible to transfer my save file to other platforms? Is that possible?
So, I need to get a larger fishing bar but totally suck at fishing. Can't buy the training rod because its not in the shop. How do I grind fish xp?
Edit: grinded soome xp, thank you for the help
Trout soup for the win
Been spending most of my sinder mining, got to floor 70 so far.
Since nothing grows how do o fund stuff? Mainly tool upgrades
The stuff is very overpriced, only food item is literally classifies as trash. Anyone actually used joja over Pierre?
Accidentally broke the starting TV and can't put it back in corner, how do I place it in left corner
Wound up getting the house upgrade
Playing the switch version, about 8 in game days in, doing some crops but not sure what else I should be doing, mainly interacting with other characters. What advice can you give me?

- stardewvalleywiki.com Version History - Stardew Valley Wiki
Stardew Valley was released on 26 February 2016 for Windows PC after almost four years of closed development. Linux and macOS compatibility was released in a free update on 29 July 2016.
Just got the game on PS5 this week.
1.6 ended up being a little larger in scope than originally planned. I'm done adding major new content to it now, though, and it's in a bug-fixing and polishing phase until it's ready for release. Thx for your patience. It'll be fun to see everyone play it!
He also replied to a user saying it will absolutely be releasing this year!

This is a huge modlist, installed near hands free using wabbajack. If you are fidgeting while waiting for the new update, this will give you a whole new world to play in the meantime.
It is an enormous extension of nearly every element. Enjoy!

I know the tweet is already a day old, but I thought I share it anyway since no one else posted it. Super excited for the new update. Concerned Ape is really spoiling us.
I'm on year two and winter is approaching (fall 25). I didn't really like last winter because it felt very long. What do you do during those times? Do you skip some days by going to bed right after waking up? Do you fish and mine like hell?

The giveaway has ended and the winner is: sag@lemm.ee. Congratulations! Have fun with the game!
Thank you all for all the funny jokes!

Hello fellow SV fans. Every year I give away 1 Steam key for Stardew Valley to a random person. Past years it was someone from the Steam SV forum or someone from the comments section on a random YouTube video about SV. This year, since i migrated from reddit to Lemmy, I decided to do the giveaway here on this community.
To enter the giveaway just leave a farming-related joke as a top-level-comment under this post. Your Lemmy account must be at least one week old at the time of the drawing (18.11.23).
Please don't post offensive, racist, trans- or homophobic jokes.
The key can be redeemed globally on Steam (PC).
Doesn't matter if you already own the game, maybe you know someone you could gift it to. Or maybe you own it on console but want to play on PC also.
The winning comment will be chosen randomly on Saturday, 18. November, 18:00 UTC.
Good Luck!
