We also believe it is possible to develop game software with shorter development periods that still offer consumers a sense of novelty.
Wasn't this always Nintendo's approach? Or are they going even cheaper, like how every Pokemon game looks like it was made by one person.
Omg that is spot on. It really looks like they fired everyone but one guy who is busting off his ass to "get a game done" in the same development cycle.
Because you can see he's trying but there's no way he can actually fill this content desert.
No not really, games like the mainline Zelda and Mario titles have really long development cycles.
IIRC, the Pokemon company has a really high turnover, because they fire all their senior engineers to keep costs down. So the jankyness of it is due to inexperience of their staff.
Really? It's pretty hard in Japan to just fire people nilly willy.
