Meta published Twitter-competitor "Threads" on Appstore available as preorder
$5 says they are nowhere near ready to release but higher ups decided to anyways to take advantage of Twitter getting destroyed
11Replyi hate zuck but i think i hate elon even more, i'll enjoy to see the war
5ReplyZuck doesn't care that he's making the world worse. Elon actually wants to make the world worse. That's the difference really

No thank you.
5ReplyInstagram is still cool with the kids, which is why this is an "Instagram app" and not a "Facebook app" or a "Meta app".
5ReplyFuck Facebook, but I must admit that’s a snazzy logo.
3ReplyJust looks like a scribbled attempt at an @ to me, but to each their own
0ReplyI mean… isn’t that sort of the point though? It’s supposed to look like an @ symbol that looks like it’s being thread/is a thread.

Not available in the EU. I hope it stays like that.
1ReplyHoly hell, we have early access phone apps now?
1ReplyNot even early acces, literally just a preorder so it gets downloaded ahtomatically...
1ReplyWeve had for a while now.. Testflight on iOS for example.
1ReplyHas been a thing for years now. Especially for games.
1Reply
There is literally zero privacy on that app. They track everything.
1ReplyInstagram app. AKA Facebook owned. AKA Meta owned. AKA zuckerfuck owned.
No thanks
1ReplyI'll never install a meta app on my phone. I'll stick with Mastodon, thanks.
1ReplyAh this must be part of their federated project P92...
If it is, I hope all instances, whether they are mastodon, Lemmy, Kbin, etc etc... Defederate from it.
0ReplyI read elsewhere they are using a whitelist to only federate with the big mastodon instances.
1Reply
Interestingly this app isn't on the Play Store yet.
0ReplyIt's Zuck better than Musk?
0ReplyIn terms of managing a social media sites, yes..

They can kiss my ass. Only Meta product I use is messenger and that’s only because my wife insists on using it.
0ReplyUnless something has changed in the last 5 years or so, their Messenger app was by far the worst offender. If the app is even just installed on your phone, they are 100% harvesting all of the data on the device.
2ReplyI deleted Facebook from my phone the day they separated it from messenger. That infuriated me. They later even made it impossible to use the mobile website to view messages. I’ve since deleted Facebook entirely.
1Replyyou're only allowing yourself and your wife, the woman you love most in the entire world, a little arsenic each day. got it. lol.
