Reddit Admins Seem to Be Modifying Pixels on r/place | More Explanation in Post

There's a QR code on r/place that links here and it seems some of the pixels are suddenly changing without any users attached to those changes -- unlike everywhere else
Video taken from this post:
Yeah the admins are definitely fucking around with it. But why would anyone think trying to make a QR code on r/place is a good idea?
51ReplyYou can make them very robust at error correction. Arguably more so than text.
72ReplyWell that's impressive. TIL

I think it's a great idea!

They did the same thing with the anti-spez messages and images. Theres another post here showing them scramble the French guillotine
36Replysurprised Pikachu
25ReplyPrevious place events had this sort of thing happen. Pixels without a user credited are admin pixels.
7ReplyAnd put a code 128 version in just for kicks
5ReplyWhy do people still care about this shit?
3ReplyWhy do people care that people care?
I am interested in hearing what happens at reddit because it affects how likely people are to leave, and where they might go if they do leave.
45ReplyThey're not going to just up and leave like so many are hoping for. The decline of Reddit will be gradual.
Millions of fucking users aren't going to just leave all at once.
-3ReplyWho cares where they go and what they do? I’m seriously asking: why does this matter to you? They’re strangers that have no relevance to anyone.
Let them stay on Reddit and do their thing. You’re here. Do your thing here. But plastering Reddit shit all over the place here is FUCKING ANNOYING.

I'll try to give you a good faith answer. Because this is a fun social experiment that has taken place for years. The results are skewed if it is tampered with.
15ReplyBut who cares? Let them tamper with it. It’s Reddit. Fuck them.

Imagine walking into the cafe, just to complain about the amount of coffee being present...
5ReplyNo, more like, imagine walking into a cafe for a coffee, and finding out that the place is filled with people that do nothing but bitch about another cafe.

Holy shit, I saw Earthlings years ago and shits still fucked up. The movie the QR code sends you to is not for the faint of heart
2ReplyShould pivot to a camouflage qr code that looks like something else
2ReplyIf it's not something random people come across easily, doesn't that defeat the point?
