When you think of it, I find it amazing that solo, capable Devs managed to create far more beautiful, performant and functional apps than reddit's whole team comprised on hundreds of devs.

11Solo, capable devs usually care for the product they create and the community they form way more than for the profits they promised their shareholders - they pour love and time and creativity into something they enjoy and want to share with the rest of the world, they listen to feedback and adress concerns, and that does make a huge difference.
Spez on the other hand cares only for how much cash he can squeeze out of reddit by any means, whether it hurts the "product" or its users in the long run or not. There is no "love and care" for reddit and redditors, just corporate greed.
