doesnt japan have a near 100% conviction rate too? they dont prosecute offences if theres a chance of not winning?

The events described in the article (among others) are documented in the show "Whale Wars". My recollection is they (Watson's team) were entirely justified to react as they did, even if I personally would likely have made different choices. This does not mean it was legal, and I have no opinion on that.

Breaking immoral laws is a moral obligation.

Although I am not saying all Japanese people are evil, Japanese people sometimes do horrible things (read the Rape of Nanking) and their justice system is still pernicious and evil in how they treat people. Their justice system involves some of the worst cruelties in the entire world and the fact that Japanese people allow this with all of their intelligence shows their continued lack of empathy and disgraceful disregard for cruelty. He should watch out!

As a Faroese national I have nothing positive to say about this man. I wouldn't wish the amount of hatred and racism I've faced because that self-righteous cult leader in my worst enemy.

I advocate against Japanese whaling, but I would never stand with this ignorant cunt. And if they locked the fucker up, I believe that there is a much higher chance of a meaningful resolution.

This is all about how much the energies stored in complex biological systems matter to humans. Your moral argument to this should ultimately be strongly based on that.
