General season 5 thread.

How’s it going? What build are you playing? Are you struggling or slaying?

I’m having a lot of fun. The infernal hordes are manic when they really get going, had me whooping out loud a few times! The ‘slaying hellborne invigorates you’ is my fave boon, attack speed goes crazy with that one. I’m gonna miss them when the season ends. They make it so easy to get gear, gold and master working mats this season. The only thing I’m struggling with this season is boss mats, I never have any exquisite blood, distilled fear etc. Soon as I have enough I go do a tormented boss to try and get a mythic unique.

I started as chain lightning sorcerer then switched to the lightning spear build. It just deletes everything. I killed Lilith for the first time ever this season and every single tormented boss. I got mythic uniques that actually work for my build for once too.

Now levelling a barrage rogue with the intent to switch to andariels build if I get an andariels visage.

I'm enjoying it, tried a few different rogue builds and doing a sorc right now, fireball then probably switch to lightning spear when I get the right gear. Doubt I'll be playing this season for much longer though since it's shorter and I don't wanna burnout right before the expansion. Plus I'm a simp for Age of Mythology so that's gonna be my September.

I also finally beat Lilith and all the tormented bosses, I've really been enjoying the changes since season 4 and the reworked uniques for this season

Do the mobs still level up with you?

Only 2 level 100s this season. My spear sorc is great, but super slow compared to my flurry/andy's rogue.

The spear sorc is an awesome maiden farmer. Just stand in the middle and cast ice balls while the spears clear the screen and a bit more. (It's super funny to watch other levelers run around the screen but not get any kills.)

I had Tal's armor drop on day one... at blood maiden.. at level 35. Super weird drop, but I ain't complaining even though I don't think it was supposed to happen. Needless to say, my sorc and rogue were on easy mode for the rest of the time.

I have done a few hundred hoards runs, and I like it. The struggle to get my sorc up to doing T8 was real, but being able to quickly farm masterworking mats was awesome after I did. (The pit was just way too slow last season)

The bugs today with goblins were funny, especially doing boss runs. Seeing all that loot drop just for half of it to disappear was interesting, to say the least. Just today, I think I got over 100 loot bags from goblins and it fully spent the last bit of dopamine I had for this season.

Over all, it was nice to actually get super-premium builds with almost all of my gear maxed and triple affixes in the most critical bits. Mythicals weren't too hard to farm and were a balanced time-suck. (Summoning materials just really suck to farm. I leveled another sorc just for that purpose, but she is basically a mule.)

It was nice to get to a level that I was at in D2 and getting super picky about gear. Spending a few hundred million just to squeeze every last percentage point out of masterworking was very D2'ish. (D2 always demanded perfect gear.) I spent at least a billion on andys alone re-rolling it.

They did good with this season, but I am putting a cap in it until the expansion.
