I don't torrent and don't really have an interest to, but was on LibGen for college text books (I'm cheap), and downloaded a .torrent files. It was kilobytes and I don't have anything that actually executes/reads a torrent file. In an effort to not reformat Windows out of anxiety, a non-executed/unopened .torrent file won't carry a virus will it?
From my understanding, a .torrent is a literal list of places to find an address (or seed) for a file, so unless it's run, it won't download anything other than said list of places which is essential just text. Is this understanding correct?
Also, it was on my computer for maybe a minute before sent to the Recycle Bin and subsequently deleted.
