  • You have to call your billing office at the hospital, speak with your health care provider/ doctor(s), and speak with your medical insurance. You need to make sure there's communication between these parties. It's a bit of a cycle, but first, you need to ask if your services isbcovered by your health care plan. Get it in writing if you can. Often their will be a series of tests/ programs you'll need to go through, or you'll need a generic/ similar treatment. If there's complications, first contact the billing and double-check your insurance information. Double check the billing and question any inappropriate billing and ask why YOU were billed. Gather AS MUCH info as possible. Call your insurance and bring them that info. They'll refute you and the healthcare office. GET IT IN WRITING. Start the process over until you hopefully win, and hope it doesn't go to collections. Fuck the American health system.
