Just ran my first session of an OSR system and had a blast!
I recently heard about Mothership from some YouTubers and decided to run a one-shot for a couple of guys in my Pathfinder 2e group. I was really impressed by the way that a more rules-light system naturally encourages more player engagement and creativity. We will probably end up playing a lot more of it in the future.
I really want to get my hands on Mothership, I watched the Quins quest review on it and was sold immediately. Trouble is shipping it to the UK is stupid expensive so I'm waiting for somewhere local to get stock. Glad to hear it's good fun to play. Did you run a pregen or make your own scenario?
3I ran "The Haunting of Ypsilon 14". It's a solid adventure, though the reason for the players to stay and help is a bit thin. Once the players realized that something spooky was going on, they all were like "why wouldn't we just leave?" I came up with something plausible enough for them to justify continuing to play, but they told me afterward that aspect was a bit immersion breaking. The actual scenario though was very effective at spooking them.
I played online using this micro vtt, since my gaming group is not physically nearby. I just used pdfs for the rules and the module itself. The one-page adventure format was surprisingly easy to run.
