Hi all,

Question about port forwarding. I'm aware that in order to fully use VPNs with torrenting, you need a VPN that supports port forwarding.

I used to use Mullvad VPN which stopped port forwarding some time ago. I still got around 1-2 mb/s consistent upload speed. However, I was a bit annoyed with Mullvad's slow download speeds, which were always around 100mbit.

I'm now testing NordVPN and the download speed is much better, around 300-400mbit. However, when using it with qBittorrent, I basically get 0 mb/s upload speed. Sometimes the upload speed goes up and I'm actually seeding something at 2-4 mb/s, but then it goes back down to 0 mb/s. With Mullvad I had a consistent 1-2 mb/s upload.

Since neither Mullvad nor NordVPN support port forwarding, what is causing the difference? Why do I get consistent seeding with Mullvad and not with NordVPN?
