I have set up a homelab with a Debian that I want to use mostly for torrenting. This homelab currently has:

• 1 SDD for OS
• 7 HDDs of 4TB

Capacity for 4 more HDDs.

But Debian is kinda of hard to raid etc. Right now I'm planning to use Deluge and manually sort the torrents between the disks. This is due to how savvy is to raid disk in Linux compared to Windows.

I've seen NAS software like Unraid and TrueNAS may be a good choice for this task. What approach is better? I'd like this to be automated in the future.
