"Upgrading" torrents automatically from V1 to hybrid / V2 on recheck?

I just want to share this idea:
Theoretically libtorrent could optionally create a V2 hybrid torrent when you recheck a torrent. This would be automatic and in the background.
Then there could be a bittorrent enhancement protocol that specifies that a torrent application could, when searching for a v1 torrent, optionally receive the corresponding hybrid torrent.
Over time this should result in more swarm merging and more resilient torrents and less incomplete old torrents.
A torrent application could also share a local library of individual data files (= hash and create a new V2 torrent) and this would add more sources for older but "upgraded" torrents. For example all ebook files in a calibre library.
This would be a bit of a roundabout way to increase actual use of V2 and create an upgrade path. Not sure if this makes much sense!
