Downloading metadata on NAS throttles internet connection to desktop

I have Transmission on my Debian NAS and connect to it on my desktop's Transmission GUI. I don't know how long I've had this problem, but today I noticed that whenever Transmission on my NAS starts a new torrent, during the initial stage where it retrieves metadata I won't be able to open a new webpage on my desktop's browser. This became obvious when one torrent was taking a long time to retrieve the metadata, so I paused it and suddenly regained normal internet connectivity on my desktop.

I ran speedtest-cli on my NAS and found I had 500+ Mbps down and 500+ Mbps up with better numbers on my desktop, and I have no issues when my content download is fully saturated at the 9 MB/s I limited it to, but for some reason I have this issue whenever it's retrieving the metadata.

I've updated my NAS and the Transmission Docker image, and still experience the issue.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
