Suddenly can't download

The original post: /r/torrents by /u/Tr33x0rs on 2024-10-07 06:55:57.

I've torrented for years without an issue although I do use Ipvanish. I often travel for work so last night I tried to download a documentary with many seeds and my download wouldn't start or would stay on Downloading Metadata or Connecting to peers.

I got home tonight and tried again with the same issue on two different devices with both QBittorrent and Utorrent. Thinking the issue could be due to Ipvanish i tried without it with the same issue. Windows firewall is off although i also tried to add an exception, the selected port is open, I've uninstalled and reinstalled both apps, I've cleared my app data for QBittorrent.

I do have 2 wifi networks at home, Network A with spotty signal and Network B which is hard wired to my modem and set as an access-point with no firewall or port blocking. I normally use Network B so out of curiosity I connected to Network A and one of the two torrents started downloading.

Im baffled as to what is happening or what changed as I've downloaded many torrents without issues and none of my software or router settings have changed.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? This is driving me crazy. Thank you in advance for your help.
