Our friends down under will finally be able to buy an officially supported Steam Deck, as it heads to Australia officially in November.
This is huge. Valve have never distributed their stuff down here, so hopefully we might see the Index at some point too.
9ReplyIs there a reason for that? Or they just hate the place?
2ReplyLikely shipping cost but I'm not sure

EB games is an official distributor for the index. Not sure if they're in stock.

Plus like 50% tax right? Isn’t that how Australia works?
5ReplyVAT in Australia is 10% (ref), but there are other things that effect the overall price (company's obligation, regulations etc.)
6ReplyThe joke is we usually get outrageous markups on tech as we don't have alternative avenues to source. We usually get gouged hard - I.e. the grey import steam decks have been often $300 more than what steam are launching at.

4ReplyBlimey!

Oh boy I can't wait for it come to Brazil! Surely will happen before I die!
2ReplyJust keep in mind that if you're sensitive to PWM then you won't be playing the OLED as a handheld : (
Still works fine when attached to a tv, it's just not a handheld/portable anymore.
I should note that I love my deck, I'm just very sad that I can't play it as a portable.
