Steam will now warn customers at checkout that they're only buying a digital license to a game
Valve will now warn players they're only buying a license to a game on Steam, not actual ownership of the game, ahead of new California legislation.
Same is true with physical. It's just harder for them to take it away.
10ReplyI was thinking the same thing. I remember playing doom on pc and it was pretty clear then who the rights holder is..
They just couldn't remove access, so it felt a lot less like I was "renting" the privilege
