It’s officially official!
As of 10:15am EST, I am no longer married. From what I’ve heard from other divorcees, my ex wife and I have had a unicorn of a separation; in that we still get along and work together for our kids. Regardless of how frictionless the process has gone, it’s still a relief to put that chapter to rest.
Sorry you had to go through a divorce but congrats on formally ending it and I'm glad to hear you're still working with the ex for the sake of your kids.

We live in a world where we think of marriage as defined by what the paperwork says, but true marriage comes from the heart.
My best friends are the reverse of this, they are inseparable and have a family they help but decided not to seal the deal bureaucratically or even spiritually. They say a part of it was being tired of being judged based on association and knowing nobody could do that if nobody connected them.
Sorry you had to go through this! It can be hard to process, but I'm happy for you that you're relieved and you both still get along. Hope this new chapter in your life goes swimmingly! 🙏
