Can anyone identify this guitar?
Trying to figure out what this yellow double cutaway was over Alex Lifeson's right shoulder when he appeared on the Shred with Shifty podcast (which is awesome, by the way).
Maybe some kind of Gibson based on the fretboard inlays?
Kind of looks like a reverend sensei
10ReplyI think you nailed it! Knob configuration matches and everything.!
4ReplyYeah, that's gotta be it. The knobs match perfectly. There goes my Revstar theory!
I don't feel too bad though, they have very similar bodies and pickguards.

Looks like an older Yamaha Revstar. First generation? Here's a similar model to that one in a burst finish:

5ReplyYeah, the body looks very similar. The knob and selector is throwing me off, though.
4ReplyAh, here's one with a similar bridge: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1209232-REG/yamaha_rs420_ftb_revstar_rs420_factory_blue.html
I'm wondering if the extra knobs are actually just pixelated reflections. I'm very sure that's a Revstar. They're great guitars, I recommend trying one out if you have the opportunity.
3ReplyYeah, the bridge doesn't match either.

Cutaways are deeper than a Revstar and looks like this has a more offset body. The Yamaha sg type shape is pretty distinctive.

3ReplyLes Paul standard double cutaway probably.
0ReplyLooks to flat and with too much offset. That was my first idea as well though.
3ReplyInteresting. Scouring the interwebs trying to find a match.
1ReplyIt’s very probable it’s a custom. It’s really hard to tell from that pixelated pic though. Seeing the shape of the headstock would help immensely.
