Im speaking anecdotally, but as a law abiding citizen, none of my interactions with NSW police have been a positive experience. I would imagine individuals from other social/cultural backgrounds experience far worse treatment.
IMO NSW police either needs a massive cultural shift (unlikely) or needs to be rebuilt from scratch.
A reminder to keep conversations civil and respectful. Everyone has a right to express their opinion and everyone has the right to disagree with it. The right no-one has is to bring the conversation down to name calling and humiliation
That figure alone means nothing. If the indigenous population are causing more trouble and being more violent then that would cause this. It might be repeat offenders too.
I'm not saying that they aren't idiots that abuse their power, but how the person they're interacting with acts will greatly affect just how much they abuse that power.
