Nintendo Switch ending online support exposes fragility of gaming partnerships in China
It has been reported that Nintendo announced a discontinuation of its online services for the Nintendo Switch in China.
Seeing this image just reminds me how far downhill Nintendo has come in controllers. Joycons are just SO bad. Sure the Pro ones might be tolerable (never touched one) but the default being a joycon is just absolutely pathetic.
16Oddly enough, my switch has the original controllers. No drift on em.
Granted I mostly use a PS4 controller on my switch so they do have limited use on them.
4I don't even mean the drift. They're just shitty controllers in every way. They focused on portability, which is terrible for comfortable controllers.
I don't own one, but I've used them enough to know I hate everything about their feel. Buttons are terrible.

They got so close to perfect with the GameCube, and it's been a steep ride down into hell ever since.
Wii U's controllers were ok, but the confusion about which controller worked for what was a mess in general (ie what needed the gamepad vs what could be played with a regular controller or wiimote even), and their idea to switch the button placement and joystick placement on the right was just objectively wrong.

7No, this is specifically about consequences of chinese policy where foreign companies are required to have a domestic partner to be able to do business at all.

...Nintendo has removed online support for pretty much every other platform other than the switch. I get that this comes sooner for China than expected, but it was an inevitable outcome either way.
