  • So the gist of it is "trust us". The app records, then uploads the recording to your server, you process it, return the transcription, and then, at a later time, you delete the recording.

    • Well, if it's my server, and it only sends it there and back, is there an issue? What am I missing here?

      • I did not get "self hosted" from the write up. It read as "their server". So you are giving them the recordings to transcribe and trusting that they will delete the recording, transcription, and logs.

    • The source code of the server is available and Framasoft is a trustworthy French non profit organization that is defending open source, privacy and degooglisatio. They are, among other things behind PeerTube.

      • Good to know. Then, as I noted in the other comment thread, this is just a terrible write-up that skips some key details like, well, everything you listed. If this can be self-hosted then it is indeed a cool app.
