People who were born in the year 2000 can never forget what age they are.
People who were born in the year 2000 can never forget what age they are.
I regularly forget what year it is though...
56ReplyIt's 1993, right?
13ReplyBro that was 10 years ago.
32Reply1969

Kids born February 29, 2000, turned 6 years old this year.
46ReplyAhkshually, they've only had 6 birthdays. They're still 24 years old.
2Reply
They can if you hit them in the head hard enough.
28ReplyWorks for someone born in 1980 like myself. Easy to track when born at the beginning of a decade.
8ReplyI mean, equally as easy to split the equation. Born in 1999? Subtract current year from 1990. Then subtract 9. Easy.
-1Reply
Especially if they were born January 1st.
December 31st throws the whole thing off though.
14ReplyNot if it's 1999-12-31 ;)
3ReplyDid you fill in your TPS reports?
2Reply
I'm sure an unfortunate bang on the head could invalidate that one
Edit: that reads a lot more like a threat than I intended it
12ReplyUnless they develop Alzheimer's or something else that fucks with their memory. 🤷🏻♂️
9ReplyDon't think that's a big problem among 24 year olds
1Reply
I don't know about that. I regularly forget what year it is.
Then again, I'm pushing 40.
6ReplyIf they were born later in the year than it currently is, they'll have to -1
4ReplyI've said it before and I'll say it again, 2021 has to be the easiest year for club bouncers
4ReplyIf you live in a country with a weirdly high drinking age.
8Reply
Its gonna be really helpful later in my life thats for sure, for now not really.
3ReplyAs a 2000, it makes it stupid easy
3ReplyI'm a 1990 and I thought I had it good.
5Reply
Yes
2ReplyWho's got it easier? The people born in 2000 or 2001?
1ReplyJust subtract your birth year from 2000 and invert it. 1988=+12, 2009=-9
1ReplySubtract 12 from your birth year. Now add +(6X2) to that number.
That's the year you were born.
2Reply... ... ... ... ... You're god damned right. The math is confusing at first until it's not
Edit: I should add, I spent a minute solving for X until I slapped my knee
1Reply
Er, uh, ok?
Like do people forget how old they are just because of the year they were born?
If someone does forget their age, they just have to do a little math, no different than someone born in 2000.
-1ReplyI think the point is just that the little bit of math is very easy if you're born in 2000.
8ReplyTotally!
Thread OP, kinda like it's easier to do the math when trying to remember your age or the year something happened in reference to one another.
"I remember I was 12 when I got braces", so they know the year was 2012 when they got braces...
...which is easier than having to calculate:
- I was born in 1993
- so, 2000 - 1993 = 7
- and, 12 - 7 = 5
- 2000 + 5 = 2005 is when they got braces.
