My current setup is:

My desktop PC downloads torrents normally to a shared local folder

My TV, using chromecast and VLC - accesses said folder

And that's how I "stream" files from my PC to my TV.

This works actually great.

My biggest problem is downloading on my PC. Sometimes it's turned off, sometimes it's broken, sometimes it's doing something else etc.

I'm thinking of buying a small local server to both work as a NAS and do other things like home automation.

And my idea is... Is there a neat, clever way to make this server, stored in a closet download torrents? Preferably remotely, from a couch, using an Android smartphone.
