Why the fuck is anyone still using Twitter
- Or even talking about shit like this? Musk is living rent free in a lot of people's heads. The way to make him irrelevant is to treat him as such. Making a fuss about everything he says, gives him undue importance.
  
  To be fair, he's commanding a ton of influence among policy makers, so it's pretty critical to not completely ignore the bullshit he's up to.
- Momentum.
  The average person is really hard to move to a new platform. I saw this when Skype was the big thing for internet communication the Microsoft slowly made it worse and worse before it was barely a shadow of its former self.
  Alternatives existed, many that were much better, but they were slightly harder to use or came along way after people were already set on Skype.
  It wasn't until discord that the internet shifted, but even discord has its problems.
  
  And FOMO. FOMO is super powerful. FOMO kept me on Reddit for way too long.

  Good write up, except Skype is a bad example, because it’s better than any alternative, at least when it comes to screen sharing, audio quality, and file sharing. (Although I’d love to be wrong about this.)

This is not even a surprise. It's exactly what I expected in fact. Just don't use X/Twitter/whatever we call it this week. Just don't use it, delete your account. It's literally a platform for Musk and the people that think like him now. Even taking part is validating him right now.

- Exactly, I don't know why people haven't understood that yet, Grok is just another LLM, it doesn't know shit, it doesn't understand shit, it just regurgitates words from the data it's been trained on and it certainly isn't an insider at Shitter.

  The point is that LLMs are naturally biased but they're also explicitly biased by the people training them. Knowing what biases are being programmed into these LLMs by their owners is a glimpse into their agenda.
  If you want to read more on the subject these are referred to as "system prompts" and you can read about various "system prompt leaks" that can include such things as explicitly right wing walking points.
  Grok may very well have such nuggets in its system prompt.

  It’s not open source or even open weights. Elon is straight up lying when he claims it is.
  It’s more expensive and generally more censored than great open weights models. Its even straight up worse than the remarkable Deepseek v3.
  It has no niche. It’s not long context, it’s slopped from training on other models, it’s not fast, it has seemingly no architectural advantages (not that they publish anything about it,) it’s not particularly good at prose or code completion or answering grounded in facts (hence the subject of the OP) or anything.
  Elon has one of the most inefficiently used H100 hoards on the planet, while other labs are making good models without being billionaires or scorching the Earth.

  I may have disagreed with you if Kamala hadn't spent the end of 2024 proving that the destruction of the traditional Republican party (not that I was a fan of R in the first place) was all the excuse D needed to sprint to the right. It's not even like D is trying to pull things the other way, they have literally just embraced this opportunity to become even closer to corporate interests and move their party to the right.
  They are fighting R because they are obligated to do so, but I no longer believe anyone in power in the Democrats cares any more about the middle class and non-white, non-male, non-Christian, non-straight Americans than R does. Pelosi put the final nail in the coffin of my good will towards Democrats.

  You been paying attention? Elon and Trump are buddy buddy. Elon has donated big time. He has shown up at rallies. They did a live interview together weeks before the election. Trump tapped Elon to be the head of a new government efficiency department. Now he's making questionable posts on social media regarding our government and what he plans to do regarding it.
  If you voted for Donald Trump, you voted to give Elon Musk more power in our politics. Anyone who thinks otherwise is engaging in an act of extreme ignorance.

- What more does the Grok response provide? The response itself is made up. Ask the LLM the same question 5 times and you will get 5 different answers.

  I understand that a simple first-hand account doesn't require evidence, but this isn't even that. The post doesn't say "I asked Grok this and this is what it said", it's literally "people" who supposedly asked it and supposedly got answers like that. Who? How many? What kind of responses exactly?

It's important to reference this old chestnut in times like this:

  I'd argue thr machines behave this way somewhat similarly too. The Internet's services are designed around resiliency first and foremost, what with how IP packet routing is designed for "Any Possible Path" between end points. Any path that becomes "damaged" or otherwise closed is often circumvented if another link exists in the network.
  The only way to truely restrict and censor internet data is to control 100% of the data paths into a certain geographical area and inspect every single bit passing through them, which is a monumental task.

Aaaand the solution to this? Get the fuck off Twitter. I don't know why people love to see blatant abuse of authority and are cool with that. Quit being chodes and supporting a chode.

From dumb idea of "we should let everyone say whatever they want, words are just words", it evolved into the switcharoo of the far-right doxxing and harassing its opponents, accusing them of "intolerance", but when their opponents did the same, doxxing and harassment suddenly became a bad thing that must not be tolerated by anyone. Even mere criticism of the right became akin to the most brutal actions committed by state actors.
  Innuendo Studios, when talking about the "You go high, we go low" tactic of the alt-right, he used the example of packing the court. In reality, the tactic is probably as old as Adolf Hitler accusing others of censorship for not giving him a platform.

We all saw the undeniable evidence that Twitter had suppressed anything not in line with the positions of the left. If "X" is now doing exactly the same thing regarding posts not conforming with positions of the right then it's just more bullshit. What is the problem with treating every position equally? I understand censorship in regard to things like doxing, child porn, and calls for violence.....but everything else should be allowed and let users decide for themselves. Haven't we had enough of being "told" what to think.

  You totally missed the point. If someone posted that and if you were capable of thinking for yourself you would research it on your own. And you would then be able to post a link supporting your position. Do you want to possibly change the position of the person and others in the same mind set making the original post or do you just want to censor them. Censorship is what causes the divide. Both sides of an issue being posted causes people to think and hopefully come together.
