  • I went into this episode expecting it to be the last. Guess I had miscounted somewhere along the way. But wow has it been an awesome season of Jet Lag! Their best one yet, by far, IMO. Made even better by the knowledge that you could buy it and play it for yourself (once they work out how to get the shipping prices somewhere reasonable...)

Same. I haven't gone back and checked, so I'm still not entirely convinced about there being another day. But the first runs were all like 7hrs, right? So I guess that with Ben's run spanning two episodes, we could be on day 6 now.

Nevertheless Sam is running, so it really doesn't matter.

Judging by the preview at the end of episode 6, the boys will start at 0730. Ben's +13hrs run will be hard to beat, in a single day, unless Sam gets some decent time bonuses. I mean Ben was playing the time bonus game from the get go of that run.

So of course it'll be interesting to see if Sam can beat Ben's time, but I'm more interested in seeing if this will be the first jetlag, where Ben doesn't get drunk. If Ben isn't drunk in the last episode, we definitely need a "Curse of the drunk Ben seeker".

Curse of the drunk seeker: The seekers must go to the nearest store that sells alcoholic beverages. If the seekers are aboard transport, they must get off at the next stop and find a shop. At the shop the seekers will purchase a selection of local drinks amounting to at least 6 standard drinks. The drinks must be consumed before asking another question or boarding transport

Targeting Ben, even in my comment, would be weirdly mean, I guess, and if implemented it would draw the game in a direction that's really not in the spirit of the game. Imagine that a single "silly good mood drunk Ben" passing out in the dark, with a ghillie suit on.

I just hope that Ben doesn't discard the idea of supplementing his "where's waldo" outfit with a ghillie suit. It's a good idea, he just have to upgrade it with some masking tape. I mean Sam and Adam could have walked right past him if not for the status LED in the microphone.

Yeah that but really stuck out to me in that episode. Especially since this season is being released to the public, which presumably means many people may play the game without having such an obvious indicator.

IIRC an earlier episode of the Layover podcast mentioned that the last day is allowed to go indefinitely, so the only issue will be getting caught, not running against the end of the game.

Are you sure? I can't remember exactly which, but I'm sure there have been multiple seasons before where he didn't.

        Curse of the drunk seeker:

Based on what I've noticed of this game so far, I would amend it so that having the drinks is required before asking another question, not something that must be done immediately. I'd also reduce it to 2 standards that must be drunk by one person, to keep the game relatively safe and fun.

It also needs a casting cost. I suggest the hider having to drink the same.
