I live in a country where the copyright demons haven't spread to our ISPs yet, so I don't need a VPN, and I have a pretty decent internet connection at home (500 down, 120 up).

I've noticed that a lot of torrents will be really slow (downloading less than 1MB/s) unless I manually limit the upload speed (to like 200kb/s), even if I'm nowhere near the ~15MB/s upload speed cap. What is going on here?
