You'd need to enforce this structure and constrain the ability to post to only those options as replies. Itherwise they'd get burried quick.
4That's a good point., i had a think and realised if you sort comments by 'old' then it shows my inital answers at the top. i think if could do it how you said would be far superior though.

6I think I get it now after seeing this comment... I'd still say it's not a great polling method due to the fact you need multiple people to follow simple instructions, and that just isn't going to happen.
