Universal Stylus?

I have a Lenovo Tab P11 (Gen 2), which while not being that old seems to have been entirely superceded, to the point that I can't seem to find stock of the only compatible stylus listed on their website (well, that isn't approaching £90 or shipping from China in Ebay- the RRP being something like £40)

Are there any decent universal styluses that can be bought for a decent price that will write well enough to be worth the cost? To my knowledge the Tab P11 isn't USI compatible, unfortunately so I understand that my options may be limited here!

  • The only ones I've ever seen were those shitty pen styluses that just have a capacitive tip (no pressure sensing or anything)

  • I've been using the Adonit Jot pro 2 for years now. Love how they handle, they are slim and light. No clue how they write though, as I don't write on the tablet. There is no compatibility issue, as there are no electronics in it. For me it was a slimmer replacement of the cheap ones with a rubber tip that were damaging the screen's protective film.

    • Do they use the little plastic discs? I always wonder if that's not liable to scratch up the screen...

When the screen is to hot when you use itm like during games, there is a slight chance that the film gets loose. (had dat happen with 1 of the discs after years of use) The replacement discs are expensive compared to the pen, but I bought 2 pens in 2017, my wife stopped using them, but I use them daily and had to replace 1 disc in al those years.

I got my hands on 2 cheap predecessors (I guess, the 1.0 version) but either they were cheap knock-offs or a bad batch. Also the discs weren't compatible (main reason I bought them). The 2.0 version is slimmer, which I prefer.

  • I was gonna suggest a future-proof USI 2.0 stylus like the Penoval. Then I was gonna suggest a tablet that supports USI 2.0. Then I thought about it, and figured it would make me sound like an asshole, so I didn't.
