I've finally seen gameplay from ZA/UM's follow-up to Disco Elyisum, and it looks a lot like Disco Elysium. It will have to be spectacular to win back a hostile fanbase

It should be a requirement to not "set aside the controversy" when taking about ZA/UM.

I had to stop the video less than 5 seconds in as soon as I saw the words "We brought you Disco Elysium"

No, you're the corporate asswipes that stole the IP from the creatives that made it. Your game will be shit based on how hard you need to try to capitalize on the legacy of the original creators that hate you. I will chuckle with rueful glee when the game fails.

As far as I am concerned, I don't give a flying fuck about ZA/UM. There is nothing they can do to win me back.

A lot of the details do unsurprisingly sound rather derivative, and it will be very, very difficult to reach the bar of writing set by writers who are no longer around. But the absolute worst part of this is that some of their ideas do sound interesting. A more elaborate thought cabinet is something I assume most Disco fans have wished for at some point, especially knowing the initial concepts floated around that had to be cut.

Also I didn't know Anton Vill still worked there.
