It's always infuriating how the anti-Palestine people are like "well the Palestinians elected Hamas so obviously they support terrorists and deserve what's coming to them!" When that happened decades ago, there has not been an election since, and most Palestinians today weren't even born back then. But when Israel elected its current genocidal government much more recently, and whose approval rating has only risen as the genocide continues, it's suddenly not a reflection of the values of people in Israel.
Hamas are the good guys, Palestinians were right to elect them
It is important to acknowledge that the root problem is the concentration of power. It does not matter which side.
When the population gives unrestricted power to their leaders, be that out of fear, desperation, religion or economic reasons, those leaders never give it back. It has to be taken back.
That's not really true, though. Israel is committing genocide on Palestine because it's a Settler-Colony and needs to do so in order to continue its existence, and the US backs it because Israel supports US interests in the region. It isn't a moral failing on the part of the Israeli population, it's the entire premise of the State of Israel as a Settler-Colonial project.
