Y'know I adore Curlews, they're stunning looking and I am impressed by their mournful wail. But......Jesus they're a bit dumb. Yesterday on my drive to the ferry I came to a complete stop twice, and had to slow to almost zero once, and be very very slow around another two. So basically five close enough calls.
This morning I slowed right down for one and it took off, flying in the same direction as my car and trying to land ( they don't seem to want to fly too far ) a few times right in front of me. ( The Prometheus school of escapee I suppose ). I ended up waiting for it to gain a bit of height again and flooring it to get underneath and continue with my journey. The Curlew lived to flight another day.
Also, looking at the thermometer before I left caused me to not wear my hoodie this morning, that may have been a mistake. It certainly doesn't feel like 22. ( Mind you that was the temp inside my house so maybe I'm dumb ) Have a lovely day.
Here's another random tune recommendation from my list of "songs what I dont hear on the radio"
This is from Friendly - an Australian DJ who had a bit of a hit with a song called "I love you but.... " that was pretty big back in the very early 00s.
This song is from the tail end of the Akimbo album which is another physical copy I actually bought (and then ripped to FLAC). It's called "The Soundtrack To The Story Of My Life" and is very tuneful. Nothing like the booms and oonce-oonce of "I love you but...".
