Group seeks to clear names of all accused, convicted or executed for witchcraft in Massachusetts
Massachusetts is working to fully atone for its witch trial legacy nearly 400 years after the first person was executed there for witchcraft
Let's hope they manage it. Would suck if they accidentally prove that witches exist.
25ReplySuck? Sign me up for magic and I'll take my chances against the pyres.
7ReplyProving that this particular type of witch exist also proves that The Devil and Hell exist. I'm not super pumped for the societal ramifications of that.

It would be interesting.

I don’t know. This seems like something a witch would try to do.

Except the Sanderson sisters. We saw their villainy play out on tv so we know they’re guilty.
10ReplyTheir brother Brandon is clearly pulling some shenanigans as well
4ReplyYeah, I've got a bone to pick with him. For reasons....

There is no proof that witches even exist, yet people were killed for being witches. Kind of like people are killed for believing in the "wrong" god. People really need to be thought how to think!
8ReplyIt's not "kind of like..." it's exactly the same. Witch trials were state-sponsored Christian extremists murdering innocent people.
18ReplyMore like state-sponsored lynching of women for the crime of saying no. Witch hunters had some wacky views on what women should be like.

I don't support killing people for witchcraft or anything, but why? Can the state of Massachusetts actually do anything?
5ReplyWhen it boils down to it, the state sanctioned the killings in the first place and all these people are asking for is some symbolic recognition of the victims, is that really too much to ask of the state?
15Replywho tf cares, this is on the bottom of the bottom of the list for things that should have any resources allocated towards dealing with.

What's the point? Nobody thinks they were actual witches
5ReplyWe have people who think there are literal demons in the government. Some of them have to believe that witches are a real and present danger.
6Reply
But we checked, they all weighed the same as a duck.
5ReplyOne turned me into a newt.
